Course Menu
Week 1- This
class explores what to eat in the morning. Learn how to gently cleanse the body
from within to make way for better eating. We'll make teas that tantalize,
juices that recharge the battery, stewed fruit and an energizing porridge to
give you the perfect start. And you'll discover some surprising lifestyle
practices that take moments to do and have far reaching benefits. This session
sets the stage for creating change and positive everyday habits.
Week 2- This
session redefines lunch! Make a change to living foods that feed the cells and
keep you going all day without the afternoon slump. We'll make the fabulous
Super Salad, the Chickpea Salad, Hommus and a toasted Seed Sprinkle. We'll talk
about preparing legumes for smooth digestion, foods that are high in calcium
other than dairy, and discuss longevity and mineralizing the body. This class
is bursting with colour, taste and food that feels like it's doing you good as
you eat it!
Week 3- Moving
more into dinner style foods, we'll make a divine Dahl (a mild lentil curry),
get brown rice right once and for all, bake tofu with digestive supportive
spices that remove the word bland from the dish, and steam veggies to
perfection. Issues for discussion include food combining, where to stick your
microwave and the less salubrious side of soy. This class is a winner- a
favourite every time!
Week 4- Learn how
to use miso in the Miso Vegetable Soup, bake veggies as a meal, whip up an
irresistible Guacamole dip and grind aromatic sesame seeds into a calcium rich
condiment. We'll discuss the all important topic of alkalizing the body to prevent
disease and ways to reduce the buildup of acidity so common in our modern
lifestyles. This class is serious fun.
Week 5- In this
class we'll create Pumpkin Soup with an Asian twist, rediscover the ‘forgotten
food' Millet, explore tempeh (what is it and how to make it taste good!) and
stir-fry up a storm. We'll also further explore the industry issues with
consuming meat and dairy, and ways to reduce exposure to hormone disrupting
properties in plastics.
Week 6- A
time-saving Watercress and Potato soup, Buckwheat- the whole grain, not the
pancake mix, Miso Spread, a great alternative to peanut butter and Vegemite, the
'Beta Salad' and the always popular fruit balls. This Class draws together our
exploration of health issues, Super Foods and lifestyle tips.
